‘The Rotating Plate’ Food Sampling Miniclub
Real foodies know the real advantage of dining out in big groups: Sure, the conversation is nice and the company is dandy, but the real reason to eat out as a group is the ability to steal a taste of everybody’s food– the more the merrier!
Well, put your guilt away if this statement applies to you. The Rotating Plate miniclub is a group dedicated to shared dining. All dishes to be ordered are to be shared, especially for restaurants for which this isn’t typically the norm. Always wanted to try both the halibut soft tacos and the butternut squash ravioli and the four mushroom sirloin in the same night? Now you can.
The miniclub is intended to bring out the best of dining out in groups without the cons usually associated with the experience. Cash will be collected and budgeted beforehand so that nobody gets to be that guy/girl that’s paying for someone else’ tip. The number of entrees ordered will be ~1 dish/person but will be shared by all this ensures that, on average, people get a dish’ worth of food. Restaurants chosen will be priced in the midrange where one usually does not usually get to try everything else on the menu.
Have a restaurant in mind whose menu is so expansive that you’ll never be ale to try everything by yourself? Suggest it to this group! Better yet, sign up and then suggest it to this group!
This miniclub is run by Joey, a food lover, facebook-food-photo-uploader, and all around friendly UBC Food Club Society member.
